Hump Day Hook from Seaside Seduction with Cover Reveal

I am one of many talented authors who share excerpts from their books and/or works-in-progress every Wednesday on Hump Day Hook. If you’d like to read some more enticing author hooks, please follow this link.

This little excerpt is from my WIP, SEASIDE SEDUCTION, which I plan to publish late in September. The story is written entirely from the male point-of-view. I’m also thrilled to unveil my cover for this romantic suspense, beautifully done by Jaycee DeLorenzo of Sweet ‘N Spicy Designs.

In this little snippet, defense systems executive Nicholas Gallero wars with his conflicting emotions over the woman he rescued from the Sea of Cortez earlier that day. He’s brought her into his beachside second residence in Cabo San Lucas and recently learned she doesn’t remember any of the events leading up to hear accident.

Lightning flashed, quickly followed by a crash of thunder. Selena’s fingers trembled as she tugged at the locks of tangled hair that nestled around her neck and shoulders.

Seeing her so vulnerable, I felt a painful tug inside my chest—a little like a strained muscle, a little like something else. I wanted to wrap a shawl around her shoulders, hold her hand, and assure her she’d be safe in the worst of storms. But at the same time, I wanted to slit her turquoise sundress down the middle with a knife to get quick and easy access to every delicious inch of her body. Holy hell.  I clenched my jaw, willing my emotions back in check.

I like seeing this conflicted side of Nicholas, it brings a real depth to his character, and I can’t wait for this one to come out, so that I can find out how he deals with his warring desires 😀

Beautiful cover! Great hook, I love his conflicting emotions. I also think that it’s cool it is from a man’s perspective. Nicely done, can’t wait to read more.
