My Sexy Saturday – September 31 – Seaside Seduction

Every Saturday, a group of talented authors post 7 words, 7 lines or 7 paragraphs from a published book or work in progress. You can read some other My Sexy Saturday author posts by clicking here

This little excerpt is from my WIP, SEASIDE SEDUCTION, which I plan to publish late in September. The story is written entirely from the male point-of-view.

Here’s the blurb…

Wealthy defense systems CEO Nicholas Gallero spots a mysterious woman in the Sea of Cortez while whale watching from the patio of his Cabo San Lucas mansion. When he realizes she’s in trouble, he rushes to save her. He’s instantly attracted to the voluptuous dark haired Selena Gomez. When Selena says she doesn’t remember how she ended up in Cabo, he invites her back to his house. Business as usual ends and his suspenseful romantic adventure begins.

In this little snippet, defense systems executive Nicholas Gallero has just rescued a mysterious drowning woman from the Sea of Cortez and invited her inside his house.

Her wet feet slid across the tile like they were gliding over ice. She stopped walking and crossed her arms over her chest as she noticed the pool of water gathering at her feet. “Your house is so beautiful and I’m making such a mess.”

I imagined untying the bikini and drying every inch of her voluptuous body off with a towel. “Don’t worry, I can remedy that problem rather quickly.” Talk about a Freudian slip. My face reddened.

Thankfully, Felicita strode into the room before I could tie myself up in worse knots. She gazed at me with one brow raised. The sides of her lips turned up in amusement when her eyes fastened on the nipple poking out of Selena’s suit top. “You didn’t tell me you were expecting a visitor.”

I pulled my shoulder blades back, trying to adopt a rigid stance that would convince her and myself that this Selena situation was all about playing the hero and doing the right thing. “I’m sorry, Felicita. Selena’s visit is a bit unexpected.  She just suffered an unfortunate accident. Could you please bring two towels and bathrobes from my closet?”

“Yes, of course, sir, I’ll be right back.” She gave him a curt nod, did an about face and briskly strode from the room.

I swept my gaze away from Selena’s nipple that had grown hard in the air-conditioned room. I cleared my throat, tugged at my bare chest and hoped she’d get the hint.

Selena looked down and blushed as she yanked the yellow bikini top back into position. She angled her body away from me. “This whole situation is so awkward. I don’t have any identification or any money. I feel so helpless.” Her feminine voice shook with distress.

In this little snippet, defense systems executive Nicholas Gallero is fighting off erotic thoughts  that he’s feeling in full force for the woman he recently rescued from the Sea of Cortez.

My gaze drifted over her sleek, yet muscled thighs, her smooth flat stomach and the mounds of her breasts. I’d like to take a bite of you, too. I cleared my throat and willed the rogue thoughts to dissipate. But instead they advanced to thoughts of biting her toes and working my tongue toward the delicious wetness between her thighs.

In this little snippet, defense systems executive Nicholas Gallero wars with his conflicting emotions over the woman he rescued from the Sea of Cortez earlier that day. He’s brought her into his beachside second residence in Cabo San Lucas and recently learned she doesn’t remember any of the events leading up to hear accident.

Lightning flashed, quickly followed by a crash of thunder. Selena’s fingers trembled as she tugged at the locks of tangled hair that nestled around her neck and shoulders.

Seeing her so vulnerable, I felt a painful tug inside my chest—a little like a strained muscle, a little like something else. I wanted to wrap a shawl around her shoulders, hold her hand, and assure her she’d be safe in the worst of storms. But at the same time, I wanted to slit her turquoise sundress down the middle with a knife to get quick and easy access to every delicious inch of her body. Holy hell.  I clenched my jaw, willing my emotions back in check.

What makes a hero hot? For me, a to-die-for body is just the beginning.  He needs to be a strong leader, to embrace physical and mental challenges, and to invest himself fully in a relationship.  Kent Dunbar, from my erotic suspense adventure series LOVE IN THE LABYRINTHS, is just that kind of man. Please leave a comment for a chance to win an e-book copy of DANGEROUS DESCENT,  LOVE IN THE LABYRINTHS #1. My excerpt comes from THE UNSEEN, LOVE IN THE LABYRINTHS #2.

The rattan squeaked loudly as he squeezed into the chair beside her. He slung an arm around her, pulled her in closer and pressed his mouth against hers. Her lips tasted so plump and delicious, he felt greedy for more. “I promise,” he breathed. Her full lips merged into his willingly, wetly, parting to invite his tongue inside. “Oh, Bec, I missed you so much.”

His heart throbbed with passion and love where it had felt so empty just hours ago. His tongue breached her lips, tasting and exploring her mouth. Heat coursed through his body, and his arousal pressed urgently against his pants.

The squeaking of the chair transformed into cracking and Kent and Rebecca fell on the floor, clinging to each other in a pile of woody bits—all that that remained of the splintered chair.

As she laid legs akimbo on her back, Rebecca threw her head back and burst out laughing. She pushed herself up on her hands and tucked a long lock of dark hair behind one ear. “Well that was a surprise.”

Kent leaned toward her and reached for her hand. He felt lighter than he’d felt all day seeing the joyous expression on Rebecca’s face. “Let me help you get up.”

Once they stood, Rebecca brushed off her backside. “I think I have splinters in my butt.”

“I can help with that.” Kent reached around behind her and plucked at the fabric of her pants. He itched to yank them off, so he could massage and knead her naked buttocks.

Hump Day Hook from WIP Seaside Seduction

This little excerpt is from my WIP, SEASIDE SEDUCTION. The story is written entirely from the male point-of-view.

Two spouts of water shot into the air, thinning into a mist in the wind. Sudden movement in the lowest quadrant of my binoculars caught my attention. It’s awkward efforts contrasted sharply with the fluid flow of dolphins, whales, turtles and other aquatic creatures I was accustomed to seeing. It must be a struggling swimmer. The receding tide had exposed blocks of previously submerged granite. I focused my binoculars on the movement, zooming in on a head of long dark hair. I could tell by the way her hands splashed frantically and her head periodically dipped beneath the waves that the woman was in trouble. I jumped up from my chair, my muscles tensed and readied.

Olympian Misty Hyman interviewed me at USMS Summer Swimming Nationals

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Olympian Misty Hyman. She interviewed me as part of the Day 5 recap of the USMS Summer Swimming Nationals. Here’s the link if you want to check it out.

In the photo posted above, I’m about to swim a mixed 200 free relay with Anna DeLozier, John Swick, and Aung Sann Oo. John, our relay anchor, poses with me in this pic.

I have to say my California dreams all came true at this meet. It’s been a lifetime dream to swim in the Mission Viejo pool and I enjoyed racing, hanging out with my teammates, watching my husband swim his first ever nationals races, and meeting new people. I brought home lots of medals, placing in the top 3 in 3 individual events (2nd 50 breast, 3rd 100/200 breast) and 2 relays, signed a lot of books for swimmers, and topped off the trip with a relaxing ocean swim in La Jolla Cove and an indulgent night’s sleep in the Grande Colonial Hotel. Swimming is truly a gift that invigorates me, keeps me in top physical condition, and helps give me the mental fortitude to persevere and achieve goals in and out of the water.

My Sexy Saturday – August 3 – From Love in the Labyrinths #2, The Unseen

Every Saturday, a group of talented authors post 7 words, 7 lines or 7 paragraphs from a published book or work in progress. You can read some other My Sexy Saturday author posts by clicking here.   My post this morning comes from my new contemporary romantic adventure, The Unseen (LOVE IN THE LABYRINTHS #2. It was released on Extasy Books on August 1 and will be available on Amazon August 8.

Here’s the blurb:

After gemstone smugglers murder three men, Kent Dunbar pretends to abandon his exploration of Vietnam’s Mountain River Cave, arranges to send the female assistants, including his new love, Rebecca Devereaux, back to the States, and enlists help from a team of Vietnam Veterans who served with his father.

Rebecca, shocked and hurt by Kent’s rejection, suspects something’s afoot. At the airport about to depart, she overhears some buff older men talking and realizes they’ve arrived to help Kent carry on his mission. Rebecca convinces her best friend, Amanda, to stay and when the flight is cancelled, the other assistant, Bunny ends up with them as well.

Passion ignites when Rebecca and Kent reunite. While Bunny is sent to a comfortable hotel, Rebecca and Amanda join the men on the adventure. But before long a killer’s pursuing Bunny, Amanda and Tom are kidnapped, and the smugglers start wielding special powers. Will the adventurers be able to outwit the smugglers?

In this scene, we learn why Bunny fled her life in North Carolina to join the caving expedition.

She called AAA and texted her boss to let him know she’d be late. When she finally got to work, she sat down to a pile of work only to sense a shadow standing over her. She looked up, feeling the intensity of Jason’s gaze.

“Oh, hi, I didn’t hear you come in.” She’d offered him a strained smile before turning her attention back to her work. Last night’s sex, which revolved around Jason’s enjoyment, had left her feeling cheap and worthless. I have to break it off with him—I gave it a month and things are only getting worse.

“Where have you been?” Jason’s grey eyes looked angry and a muscle in his jaw twitched unpleasantly.

Bunny shrugged, figuring once she explained, he’d settle down. “My battery died. I had to wait for AAA to come.”

He raised his voice and pounded his fist down on her desk. “Why didn’t you call to let me know?”

Worry tugged at Bunny’s insides. Jason’s reaction struck her as more frightening than normal. “It just didn’t occur to me. I texted Rick and let him know I’d be late.”

Spit flew from Jason’s lips as he berated her. “From now on, if you’re not going to be somewhere on time, I expect you to let me know.”
